Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Gujarat Titans batting first, scored 168 runs on the board at the loss of 6 wickets. MI vs GT, Mumbai Indians got a poor start to chase the target. Ishaan was dismissed against Ajmatullah Umrajai on Duck in the first over. After which Naman Dhir played a good innings of 20 runs in 10 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. There was a 77-run partnership for the third wicket between Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis. Rohit Sharma lost the wicket against Sai Kishore, playing 43 runs in 29 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six.
Dewald Bravis was also playing a good innings but was dismissed for 46 runs in 38 balls against Mohit Sharma in the 16th over. In the 19th over, Spencer Johnson showed Tilak Verma and Gerald Koetzi the way to the pavilion. After Tilak Verma’s dismissal, the match had almost gone out of Mumbai’s hand. In the last over, Mumbai Indians needed 19 runs to win.
Hardik Pandya again changed the stand of six and four root match in the first two balls. But then in the next two balls, Umesh Yadav sent Hardik Pandya (11) and Piyush Chawla to the pavilion on Golden Duck. The last two balls scored only 2 runs, and Gujarat Titans won by 6 runs. Ajmatullah Umrajai, Umesh Yadav, Spencer Johnson and Mohit Sharma took 2-2 wickets for the Gujarat Titans.
