South African Dewald Brevis plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and MI Cape Town franchise in the SA T20 League.
MI Cape Town’s rising star Dewald Brevis has said that he considers Mumbai Indians teammates Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav as his idols. He has learned a lot from him. Brewis scored a quick-fire 70 in the inaugural match of the ongoing SA20. Brewis has scored 133 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 117 in the South Africa T20 League.
On the eve of MI Cape Town’s match against Paarl Royals, Brewis said that he is happy to represent the two teams of the Mumbai Indians family. Mumbai Indians included him in their team last season.
Quoting the franchise’s release issued on Saturday, Brewis said, “My favorite color is blue. So it’s a wonderful thing to be a part of this family. Like Mumbai, the conditions in Cape Town are also excellent.”
In response to a question, Brewis said, “I consider many players as my idols. For example, Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar and all the other big players, I love playing with all these legends.”
Dewald Brevis :
Dewald Brevis said, “I have learned a lot from IPL. The feeling of meeting these stars was different but my coaching team made me feel that I belonged to this family and advised me not to get overwhelmed by these stars and I think this helped me a lot.”

Speaking about his experience with MI Cape Town, Dewald Brevis said that he is enjoying every moment in the SA20. He said, “These are new things that you learn from them. They give you important information. “Hash (Hashim Amla), he is an amazing coach and person so he brings peace to me and helps me pursue a lot of things.”
The South African batsman said, “Even with coach Simon, he is amazing as a coach. So there is always time to share things and learn from them. We always talk a lot about it and things going on with my batting. That’s why all the coaches share so much good information that you can take into your game.”
He further said, “Really enjoying every single moment (in SA20). MI Cape Town’s home ground at Newlands is a special place (for us). “We already had special memories.”
