As you know IPL 2024 has been started with a bang with the opening class between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. So now as the tournament progresses BCCI has to announce the remaining schedule of the IPL 2024. So now as per the reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to hold IPL finals at Chennai and playoffs at Ahmedabad.
Chennai will host the final
According to the sources Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium is been selected to host one qualifier and one Eliminator match and Chennai will witness the final and another qualifier match. As you know according to the rules of BCCI and IPL generally the previous season’s winning team gets the final in their home ground. This decision is been a bonus for the previous season’s Champions Chennai Super Kings as if they go into the final they already know the conditions and atmosphere around the stadium.
The decision was also influenced by the dates of the general election in India the IPL dates schedules and venues have been decided in collaboration with the Election Commission of India as no cricket matches should be happening on the voting days. Arun Dhumal who is the chairman of iPL that is Indian Premier League emphasized is importance of the general elections in India and decided to enter IPL in India itself. The first two weeks of the schedule have already been released by BCCI and we are waiting for the next schedule to be released.
